2. een kwèkkerige poging (zooals b.v. het Amsterdamsch Drankweer Comité - quelles vaches! - met medewerking van het gemeente-‘bestuur’ er zooveel aan den openbaren weg begaat, ‘Niet drinken, niet schenken, een goede raad zou 'k denken’, enz., enz.) om met een onnoozel rijmpje de waarheid van het berijmelde aan dwazen en narren te suggereeren,.... Wel pot hier-en-daar, 't is niet waar, Bij den uier behoort de luier, Zulke kwezels praten voor ezels, Dat gekwèk maakt iemand gek, Nu zal ik de heeren wat anders leeren: Cider is goed voor ieder, Wijn is goed voor pijn - roode is goed voor de nooden en witte is goed voor de hitte... oude is goed voor de koude en jonge is goed voor de longen - Bieren zijn goed voor de nieren, Jenever is goed voor de lever, Klare is je ware!.... "Gerard Fieret is al jaren een bekende verschijning in het Haagse straatbeeld, hij is elke dag aan te treffen op zijn fiets met aan het stuur twee emmers duivenvoer. Zijn dagelijkse gang voert hem langs circa dertig plaatsen waar hij zijn lievelingsvogels te eten geeft. Weinigen weten dat in deze man een begenadigd kunstenaar schuilgaat, die in 1992 de Ouborg Prijs van de stad Den Haag ontving.
